Day 1 – entering wild lands

Pickup is available from Montpellier-Saint-Roch Station from 6:00 PM, before heading towards the vast open spaces of the Grands Causses. As the journey unfolds, the scenery transforms: cliffs begin to rise, and the iconic Millau Viaductgradually appears on the horizon. The immersion begins.
Upon arrival, settle into the base camp and meet both the team and the other participants of the Origine x GravelUp experience.
Over a local aperitif and a convivial dinner, everyone gets introduced to the spirit of the weekend: sharing, adventure, and a passion for gravel riding. It’s also the perfect moment to get familiar with the Origine gravel bikes, make the final adjustments, and kick off this authentic bikepacking and gravel adventure escape in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
This new day begins with breathtaking views over the Millau Viaduct, starting with a gentle warm-up before heading back onto the trails of the Grands Causses.
Today’s route takes the group through wild and preserved landscapes, alternating between forest tracks, flowing gravel paths, and forgotten backroads. In this more intimate atmosphere, the Origine gravel bikes reveal their full precision and comfort across varied terrain combining smooth riding and technical sections.
Throughout the ride, the scenery shifts between vast pine forests, stone hamlets, and historic villages shaped by the legacy of the Knights Templar. It’s the perfect day to fully experience gravel cycling in Aveyron, blending exploration, effort, and contemplation.
A stop is planned at a former religious site hidden deep in nature before reaching the charming village of Nant for a convivial lunch featuring local flavors.
The afternoon unfolds at a more relaxed pace, with a gradual return to camp, allowing time to enjoy the final kilometers and the iconic landscapes of the Grands Causses.
Back at camp, everyone embraces the unique atmosphere of the stay in their own way: recovery time, stretching under the sunset, conversations over a drink, or sharing the day’s adventures in the warm and passionate spirit of the Gravel Camp by Origine.
After a hearty breakfast, it’s time to set off for a full day of riding through the wild landscapes of the Grands Causses, the ultimate playground for the Gravel Camp by Origine.
From the very first kilometers, the tracks of the Causse Noir set the tone: majestic landscapes, vast mineral plateaus, and a true feeling of freedom. Every section reveals the pure spirit of gravel riding, showcasing the full potential of the Origine gravel bikes across varied, fast, and demanding terrain.
The route alternates between long flowing gravel tracks, forest passages, and more technical sections, all within an atmosphere deeply rooted in bike adventure, self-challenge, and the joy of riding together.
Throughout the day, gourmet breaks featuring local specialties punctuate the experience, offering moments to recover and soak in the beauty of the Aveyron countryside.
After this full immersion into the world of the Gravel Camp by Origine, return to Millau for a convivial dinner and another evening sharing the warm and passionate spirit of Origine.
For the final day of the Gravel Camp by Origine, a last gravel loop awaits the group through the vast open spaces of the Larzac plateau and the iconic landscapes of the Grands Causses.
The program includes panoramic tracks, open terrain, and spectacular views over the Millau Viaduct. It’s one final immersion into this unique playground where the Origine gravel bikes continue to deliver comfort, smooth handling, and pure riding pleasure on unforgettable trails.
The kilometers unfold through wild nature, wide horizons, and that unmistakable feeling of freedom found in the best gravel riding and bikepacking adventures.
Back at the base, a convivial brunch brings this shared experience to a close among cycling enthusiasts and lovers of outdoor escape.
After lunch, a transfer to Montpellier-Saint-Roch Station is arranged, with arrival expected around 5:00 PM.
The journey comes to an end, but the memories of the Grands Causses, the Aveyron trails, and the experience shared alongside Origine are already firmly etched in mind.

How to get there?
There are two ways to reach your trip:
• Arrive by your own means and go directly to the meeting point indicated. • Arrive by train or plane. In this case, we organise a shuttle between the arrival train station or airport and your accommodation.

Yes, we ride on routes where neither road bikes nor mountain bikes are perfectly suited — that’s what makes gravel so special! You can bring your own gravel bike or rent one directly when booking your trip.
Across all our destinations, we offer two models from Origine: the lightweight Graxx GTO (8.1 kg) and the Help e-gravel (12 kg). Both combine performance, versatility and comfort - perfect companions for your adventure. Learn more about our rental bikes.

With us, there’s no stopwatch. We start together and we finish together. To help every rider find the adventure that suits them best, we offer 5 difficulty levels, from 1/5 to 5/5, detailed below. The level of each trip is shown at the top of its page, on the header photo. Please note: all our trips are open to e-gravel bikes (available for rental in all our destinations). Our groups include both traditional and electric bikes to ensure a smooth balance of pace.

Booking
Not at all! Our expeditions do not require previous gravel riding experience. Our itineraries are designed to be accessible to all, as long as you have a spirit of adventure. You may have to carry or push your bike on some short sections, but that's part of the Gravel Up adventure!
Please note: Our hire bikes are the latest spec models and are meticulously maintained for your comfort and safety. They are the ideal bikes in terms of comfort and safety for all our adventures
Booking
We prioritize small groups of 8 to 12 participants to encourage meaningful interactions and maintain the friendly spirit of the trip.
Traveling in a small group also allows us to minimize our impact on the trails we use and to respect the territories we pass through.
Practicalities
You will be accommodated in charming hotels, chalets, or renovated former shepherds’ cottages, carefully chosen for their comfort, history, and the authenticity of their hosts!
Safety
Our guides are carefully chosen based on their experience and local knowledge of each region to guarantee you an unforgettable adventure. All our guides have French State validated bike qualifications. They are also French levels 1 and 2 first aid trained as you would expect.
Booking
You may change the date of your trip free of charge up to 30 days before departure. You may also cancel your booking at any time prior to the start of your trip. The following conditions will then apply:
More than 90 days before departure → 75% refund, or a 100% credit of the amounts paid, valid for the next 12 months
Between 60 and 90 days before departure → 50% refund, or a 75% credit of the amounts paid, valid for the next 12 months
Between 30 and 60 days before departure → 25% refund, or a 50% credit of the amounts paid, valid for the next 12 months
Less than 30 days before departure → No refund, or a 50% credit of the amounts paid, valid for the next 12 months
You may also take out cancellation insurance with our partner Chapka Insurance. This option will be offered at the time of booking. More information about the insurance is available here.
Please note that a Trip Credit cannot be converted to a refund at a later date.

Between 3 and 5 days riding crisscrossing the natural park of Les Grands Causses in Aveyron on a gravel bike with a group of like minded riders will allow you find landscapes and views that will take your breath away. GravelUp takes care of everything during the trip, from carefully chosen accommodation to local meals and snacks ideal for a days riding.
