A tailor made itinerary created by GravelUp
We’ll head off for 3 days riding from the hamlet of Gez, nestled on the slopes of its namesake mountain on the edge of the Pyrenees National Park. Open your eyes wide, breathe deeply and take it all in.
What to expect on the bike? You’ll be riding in nature on trails of all conditions, that will take us to the Col du Cabaliros and Col du Soulor amongst others. In the mountains we use shepherd and milking tracks, and climb the mighty Tourmalet via the Laurent Fignon path, far from the usual road route.
And still we climb! We tackle the Pic du Midi de Bigorre, where you’ll be rewarded by jaw dropping views, and ride the forestry trails of the Bergon Forest that will take you towards more lofty cols and surrounding peaks like the Hautacam. An incredible sense of satisfaction awaits.
Our Basecamp is a Gîte in the heart of the Pyrenees that specialises in active holidays and bike trips. It offers us a comfortable and, above all, peaceful home from home. We’ll enjoy a carefully planned healthy and tasty menu, with meals enjoyed in a warm and convivial atmosphere whilst admiring the surrounding mountains. Our local host, a passionate cyclist, loves sharing his local knowledge and traditions with his guests too, so prepare to be fully immersed!
What to expect OFF the bike? Yoga, meditation and well-being are an important (yet optional!) part of our bike trips. In the Pyrenees we enjoy yoga on the rooftop of the Gîte, soaking up the serenity surrounded by summits, and there’s even an ice bath to aid your recovery after each days efforts. We’ve scouted some truly authentic local producers in the most beautiful old villages, so you can savour some of the local flavours and see the local way of life in action.
