An excellent long weekend in the Larzac with GravelUp! The routes were stunning, and our guide knew the region inside out, leading the group through varied terrain, beautiful landscapes, and charming villages. Whether on e-bikes or regular bikes, everyone could keep up and enjoy the ride at their own pace.

The organization was flawless: picnic lunches, dinner in a traditional local restaurant, a yoga session, and hearty, delicious breakfasts. The bikes were recent and very well maintained.

The GravelUp team was attentive and responsive to unexpected situations — 4 flat tires on the first day! This trip met all my expectations: a real change of scenery and an amazing atmosphere.

Whether you're new to gravel or already a fan, I highly recommend GravelUp for your next adventure.

An amazing experience with the GravelUp team on the Grand Causse adventure over three days. A caring and attentive crew, an outstanding guide, and a gravel route with stunning landscapes. The little extra? Full technical support throughout the trip — from mechanical help to refueling stops. Thanks for everything, and can’t wait for the next adventure!

Magical experience! An outstanding organisation before, during and after the stay. An idyllic and playful setting to have fun with friends. To be repeated as soon as possible with friends, experienced or not, integration and good humour will do the rest! All inclusive!

My stay was a real pleasure! All the logistics are perfectly managed, which is perfect for clearing your head and having nothing to think about but walking along beautiful paths. The route was well thought out to vary the scenery and see as much as possible. It was a real pleasure to be able to meet with other members of the group and we were able to share quality moments both on the bike and during the other activities.

Day 1 – Warm-up ride ∼ 40 km | 600 mD+

Welcome to the Grands Causses, GravelUp style. You have the option to be picked up at Montpellier train station at 12:00 by your GravelUp Destination Manager. After a first lunch to break the ice, we head out for an easy-going but already spectacular warm-up ride. We follow the banks of the Tarn and the Dourbie, before climbing gently to overlook the valley.

Highlight of the day? Riding beneath the iconic Millau Viaduct, a symbol of perfect harmony between nature and human engineering. A playful gravel descent takes us down to the charming troglodyte village of Peyre, before we cruise back to basecamp for a laid-back evening of good vibes and connection.

Day 2 – Into the Causses ∼ 71 km | 1230 mD+

We kick off the day with a gentle yoga session, then jump in the saddle for a deep dive into the wild heart of the Grands Causses. A gradual climb on a quiet, winding road takes us up onto the Larzac plateau.

From there, it’s all about epic gravel tracks across wide open spaces. We ride through remote, raw landscapes before heading to Roquefort for a visit of the Carles cave, home to one of the finest traditional Roqueforts. The day wraps up with secret trails only our guide knows about. Overnight in Sainte-Affrique, under the spell of this beautifully wild day.

Day 3 – Riding the French Outback ∼ 52 km | 1050 mD+

A colourful ride awaits. We kick things off with a steady road climb through the forest, then glide down to the peaceful Sylvanès Abbey for a well-deserved coffee stop.

From there, it’s all about the Rougiers de Camarès — a landscape of deep red and ochre tones, echoing the Australian Outback in a raw, Aveyron-style version. Expect flowy gravel tracks and big-sky vibes all the way. We transfer back to basecamp in Millau, stretch it out with a late afternoon yoga session, and wrap things up with a dinner at the town’s finest restaurant. One for the books.

Day 4 – Big Ride, Big Views ∼ 80 km | 1430 mD+

Time for the longest and most epic ride of the trip — we’re heading into the Causse Noir, the smallest of the Grands Causses by size, but not by character.

We roll straight out from basecamp, following the legendary Templiers trail route to climb towards the plateau. Then, we cruise along the Tarn River to the quaint village of Peyreleau, before diving into a day filled with forest trails, rolling tarmac, and open plateaus. A bit of everything, and a lot to love.

After a coffee break in Veyreau, we tackle a final gravel section to reach the iconic Puech d’Agast, with its breathtaking view over Millau. Then it’s back to basecamp, hearts full, legs buzzing.

Day 5 – The perfect send-off ∼ 33 km | 510 mD+

One last spin to get the legs moving, soak in the scenery and enjoy a final taste of freedom before heading home. We follow the northern banks of the Tarn, riding a mix of fun gravel trails and taking in stunning views over the Causses.

Back to basecamp for a final lunch together, the perfect moment to replay the best bits of the adventure. For those who need it, a transfer to Montpellier train station is available at 5 PM.
