Pays basque - Camp de base Hotel Indarra - piscine

Day 1 – Reunion & Basque Flavors

We’ll welcome you from 7:00 pm in a charming and comfortable hotel located in the small village of Arbonne, just outside Biarritz. If you’re arriving by train, a shuttle will pick you up at the Biarritz TGV station (around 6:00 pm) and take you directly to the hotel.

The evening will begin with a Basque-inspired dinner, highlighting local products and regional specialties. In this warm and friendly atmosphere, you’ll get to know the rest of the group, as well as your guide and the GravelUp support team.

Day 2 – Basque Lakes and Villages ∼ 73 km | 1400 mD+

After a hearty breakfast, we set off on a panoramic loop through forests, meadows, and valleys.

We’ll pause at the peaceful Xoldokogaina Lake before continuing to the charming village of Sare with its traditional Basque houses. The route then takes us up to the summit of La Rhune (905 m), a mythical mountain of the Basque Country, offering breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean and the Pyrenees.

Gravel paths will then guide us along ridgelines and valleys, with stunning panoramas, before returning to the hotel for a well-deserved Basque dinner.

Jour 1_Adventurer_Pays Basques

Day 3 – Basque Villages and Traditions ∼ 60 km | 1200 mD+

Today, we head to the charming village of Espelette, where we’ll stroll through lively streets, admire façades decorated with strings of red peppers, and soak up its warm atmosphere.

The route continues along beautiful gravel paths through green valleys, Basque pastures, and with the Pyrenees as a backdrop, dotted with rivers and streams, perfect for a refreshing pause or a photo stop.

The day ends in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, famous for its citadel and medieval streets, an unmissable stop at the foot of the Pyrenees.

Pays Basque 8 : Sentiers côtiers

Day 4 – Basque Coast and Atlantic Views ∼ 40 km | 400 mD+

We’ll set off on one final spectacular loop along the Basque coast. This last morning on the bike will take us between the golden beaches and cliffs of Anglet and Biarritz, with breathtaking panoramas over the Atlantic Ocean and its iconic waves. We’ll soak up the wild landscapes and the picturesque villages that dot the coastline one last time.

The morning will end with a final convivial lunch to say goodbye. The trip will conclude around 3 p.m., followed by a shuttle transfer to Biarritz train station at around 4 p.m.
