3T and GravelUp join forces to offer a unique expedition beyond the tarmac of the Côte d’Azur. This five-day gravel bike expedition will tackle wild dirt tracks and gravel climbs in pursuit of traffic-free adventure by bike. Expect dust, 40mm tyres, and lots of testing terrain.
Held from February 15th to 19th, 2023, this is a limited capacity event (10 riders).

We’ll start our 5 day gravel adventure trip from the beautiful Nice on the shores of the Med. You’ll have the chance to ease yourself into the pace of life of Southern France in the old markets of Nice before heading to our Base Camp. Here your hosts will welcome you and be happy to share their story and heritage, helping you get beyond the typical tourist stories.
Our qualified guide will be on hand throughout the trip with riding tips to help prepare you for the terrain we’ll encounter during each day's ride.
Having bonded with the team on the Prologue ride we’ll head inland through beautiful countryside and rustic villages that are so typical of the area. Take a moment to breathe the fresh air and sweet scents of the fruit trees and olive groves that line our path. You’ll have the chance to taste some of this local produce too with food and wine tastings all part of the experience.
And at the end of each day’s ride we'll take the time to relax over a local beer and relive the highlights of each day, reeling in the satisfaction of a good day’s riding shared with others.
Don’t forget that yoga and relaxation are an important part of the trip too, gently reviving body and mind ready for another day’s adventuring!

In love with the Provence region, our guide is eager to make you discover the tracks of the Nice backcountry.
As a bike mechanic, he/she is the best person to help you discover the region. Anecdotes, encounters and sharing of experiences, he/she will make sure that you have an unforgettable stay and above all that you soak up as much as possible of this fabulous territory.

A Gravel bike that can handle any surface, from asphalt to singletrack to steep trails. An all-road spirit, but with aggressive geometry and aerodynamics that feel almost identical to a road bike. But it's really off-road on our unique tracks that you'll see its versatility, offering comfort and control. Its weight, very modest for such a robust bike, helps a lot on steep climbs.

By train: Nice TGV station (shuttle at 6pm / return at 5pm)
By car: Meeting point directly at the Base Camp in Nice (from 8pm)
By plane: Nice Cote d'Azur International Airport (shuttle at 6pm / return at 5pm)
As soon as you arrive, our team will pick you up and take you directly to our base camp where the disconnection can begin.
Your stay starts at 8pm and ends at around 3pm on Sunday.
Equipment
Yes, our trips will go on paths and small roads where neither road bikes nor mountain bikes will be suitable.
You can bring your own gravel bike or hire one from ours. Our well specced bikes with tubeless tires means a much lower risk of punctures and mechanical problems during your trip.
Level
Our expeditions are adventures, not races. We start together and we finish together, it's the GravelUp speed.
It is difficult to give a precise average speed as the surfaces make a big difference, as well as admiring the views! Average speeds are normally between 15 and 18 km/h.
Practicalities
Recharging your batteries is essential after a day on the bike. Post ride you can relax at our base camps or partner hotels and guest houses. We have chosen them carefully for their comfort, tranquility, location and the quality of their food.
Practicalities
For Adventurer and Escape trips your luggage will remain at the base camp, where you will sleep each evening.
For Explorer trips your luggage will be transported by us between your accommodation each day.
Booking
Not at all! Our expeditions do not require previous gravel riding experience. Our itineraries are designed to be accessible to all, as long as you have a spirit of adventure. You may have to carry or push your bike on some short sections, but that's part of the Gravel Up adventure!

This was my first experience on gravel and it could not have been a better destination to try it. The Gravel Up team were very welcoming, highly organised and confidently handled riders of quite varying abilities and fitness.
It says a lot for an event, and those who lead it, when the time off the bike is almost as good as time on the trails. I would recommend Gravel Up to anybody wanting to test themselves a little (or a lot!) and to enjoy great company and excellent food in the best surroundings.

5-star Gravel trails (hence the rating 😉), incredible landscapes, just the right amount of elevation gain, generous and delicious refreshments and dinners, and then a staff as friendly as they are attentive.
In short, the concept is top-notch (we knew that), but the reality is even better. A big congratulations to GravelUp, and we'll see you again soon.
