Packing list

What to pack for your GravelUp adventure?

Mandatory equipment for riding

  • 1 helmet (less than 5 years old)

  • 1 pair of cycling gloves

  • Your bike computer mount (if you are bringing your own computer)

  • At least 1 water bottle (2 recommended)

  • 1 pair of sunglasses

Recommended riding gear

  • 1 pair of cycling shorts (bib shorts recommended)

  • 1 cycling jersey or sports t-shirt (short or long sleeves depending on the weather on the day)

  • 1 waterproof jacket in case of rain

  • 1 lightweight wind jacket

  • 1 pair of socks

  • Sunscreen

  • 1 lightweight neck warmer / buff

Personal items off the bike

  • A comfortable outfit for the evening

  • A sweater or light down jacket for cooler evenings

  • Comfortable shoes (such as sneakers)

  • Chargers for your devices (phone, bike computer, etc.)

If you are renting a bike

  • Gravel or MTB shoes compatible with Shimano SPD cleats

If you don’t have cycling shoes and would like to get equipped, you can check out our selection of shoes at different price points here.

If you prefer to ride with flat pedals, regular sports shoes will work perfectly. Please let us know in the questionnaire or by email at bonjour@gravelup.earth.

⚠️ For extra comfort, you are welcome to bring your own saddle (without the seatpost). We will be happy to install it on your bike.

If you are bringing your own bike

🚨 We strongly recommend gravel bikes only for our trips.
Mountain bikes or road bikes are generally not suitable for the full range of terrain on our routes.

We ask that your bike undergoes a full service within 30 days before departure (brakes, drivetrain, tyres).

Your bike must be equipped with at least:

  • Gravel tyres with a minimum width of 40 mm (for maximum comfort on gravel roads and trails)

  • Disc brakes

  • Appropriate gearing, ideally 11 / 42

Recommended spare equipment

We recommend bringing the following items with you:

A repair kit including:

  • 1 compatible derailleur hanger

  • 2 inner tubes

  • 1 multi-tool

  • 2 quick chain links

Other useful equipment:

  • 1 bike bag to carry your personal items

  • 1 spare tyre

We recommend being self-sufficient with spare parts, as we may not have compatible parts for all bike brands available on site.
