A program 100% created by Gravel Up
Meet us in Sartène, in the south of Corsica, for 5 days discovering the hidden treasures of this region!
Daily Itinerary
Day 1: We'll start the first day by getting acquainted with the Gravel bikes while exploring the Corsican maquis. A 27km ride with 380m of elevation gain will take us to a unique archaeological site in the heart of a preserved plateau. After this little tour of Menhirs, we'll descend via an exceptional gravel track, heading to Tradiccetu beach and the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Back at base camp for a dinner by the fire, prepared by our host Cyril.
Day 2: Prepare your calves; it's going to sting! On the agenda for this second day, 74km and 1930m of elevation gain heading north, to reach the central region of Alta Rocca and the town of Zonza, our stop for the night. We'll cross the Ortolo valley, home to all the largest vineyards of the Sartenais. Stop at Domaine de Saparale for a visit and tasting of wine and olive oil. After a gourmet lunch break, you'll discover the real, authentic, and rural Corsica. A dream landscape and the impression of delving into the mountains of central Corsica, where few venture.
Day 3: The queen stage! 70km and 1610m of elevation gain. A first gravel track at the bottom of the valley will offer an incredible view of the Bavella needles. After crossing typical villages, we'll climb towards the Coccionu Plateau. At the top of the plateau, a unique trail awaits in this Natura 2000 reserve, thanks to our special permissions to access it: wild black pigs, horses, cows, and the famous pozzi (these underground rivers) will continue to amaze you! Return to Zonza after a very playful and very little frequented descent that you will love!
Day 4: Time to head back to our base camp. 66km and 1100m of elevation gain for the day. Return through the Ospedale forest, a splendid forest with absolutely unique gravel sections! You will also be amazed by breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea, a great feeling of freedom and being alone in the world. Return to Tribu by the tracks and well-deserved rest after these three days of roaming.
Day 5: To end in style, 45km and 700m of elevation gain. Departure from the base camp for the last morning. Direction to Cala di Conca beach – 12km of track through the meadows. This secluded beach is accessible only by this track or by sea. A small swim for the most motivated! We head back into the maquis on the way up, until Tizziano village. Incredible views of the sea and arrival at the village by the beaches and tracks of the south. Return to Tribu for the end-of-stay lunch.
